Brie's Favorite Garden Inspired Holiday Gifts

Every year people ask me, “What’s the perfect gift for the gardeners in your life?” From inspiring new books and homegrown holiday décor to practical tools and the world’s best compost, here are a few thoughtful ideas to make any gardener smile! Click the links below for more details one each of my top gift ideas!

Weston Farms Luxurious Magnolia: Grown and crafted in Garner, NC these wreaths, garlands, and bouquets can be ordered online and shipped throughout the continental US. Nothing says a southern Christmas quite like fresh Magnolia grandiflora

Dr. A's NEW Book: In The Common-Sense Gardener legendary horticulture professor Dr Allan Armitage explains the ins and outs of gardening, with sensibility! This is a great read for everyone, from those just starting off to experts who need a good laugh and refresher on how to be practical!

Secrets of Southern Gardening by Jenks Farmer:  This book is a must read for everyone gardening in the south, especially northern and midwestern transplants who have NO IDEA where to start when living in a year-round growing season! With a lifetime of experience, Jenks explains everything you need to know to be successful!

Gardening Experiences: Nothing compares to the gift of a unique experience. Consider one of my upcoming greenhouse classes to share with a loved one or reach out if you’d like to plan a special event or a private garden tour. Experiences like these create memories that last far longer than anything wrapped in a box!

Brie's Favorite Tool: The hand mattock is the one tool I could not garden without. I prefer the wooden handled types but there is a wide assortment to choose from online. This is a tool I wish more garden centers would stock because it is way more practical than a shovel for everyday planting, weeding, edging, etc.

Brie's Favorite Pruners:  Nothing compares to the quality of Okatsune pruners, and I will go to my grave claiming that! I have been using mine for 20 years and swear by this brand for durability, and long-lasting practicality. Over the years I have acquired several different styles including trimming shears for bushes and bud cutters for flower arranging and I love them all!

Brie's Favorite Gloves: I never garden without gloves and Atlas Nitrile are the best! They are machine washable, so you never have to wear a dirty pair, they are warm and comfortable, and you can use your phone with them on!

Brie's Favorite Compost: This should be obvious, but Veggie Mix from Soil³ is the very best thing you can add to your garden. I cannot grow without it!

Brie's Favorite Wheelbarrow:  To go along with that fabulous compost, every gardener needs a reliable hauling machine, and a two-wheeled wheelbarrow is hands-down the best choice. This simple upgrade has saved the day for me more times than I can count. It’s far easier to maneuver than the old one-wheel style (which, honestly, I’m not sure should even be sold!). It’s stable, sturdy, and perfect for gardeners of all ages.
