Samhain [sow-wen], the mid-way point between Autumn and Winter, marks the turning of the wheel toward the darker half of the year. Whether it’s called “Witches’ New Year,” All Souls Day, Dia de los Muertos, or many more, cultures across the globe recognize this as an auspicious season for ancestral connection, letting go, and accepting loss.
In this all-levels workshop, we’ll align with this seasonal shift through mindful practices that cultivate resilience and heartfelt connection. Together, we’ll:
Create a shared altar to honor loss of any kind or form, remember those who came before, and explore the idea of the otherworld while the veil is thin.
Move through a guided meditation and reflection prompts to tune into what’s ready to be released in service of transformation and reach deep within to find the wisdom of death and rebirth.
Sit in circle, sharing insights and holding space for each other in community while collectively creating a safe container for deepening your relationship with nature — and yourself.
Take part in a simple fire ritual to seal our intentions and surrender to what will be.
Bring a mat, cushion, and/or blanket as well as a journal/notebook and an offering for the altar (you will get to take it back home) – an item that represents a meaningful loss in your life. This could be a person, animal, a part of yourself, an identity, and anything else tangible or intangible that was a significant change you would like to grieve, celebrate and/or honor.
